New Age Channelings
 Who or What is being Channeled?

I wrote "New Age and Armageddon: the Goddess or the Gurus?" (see note 1) after the death of my oldest son from virulent cancer in 1987. He had got involved with Rebirthers, New Age therapists, with disastrous results. In that book I discuss, amongst many other things, their reactionary and patriarchal worldview - their denial of life's natural cycles as in birth and death, their envy of birthing mothers (they believe in rebirth without the mother ). their concepts of poverty-and-prosperity-consciousness which goes along with the "you create your own reality" thinking. They inevitably end up guilt-tripping the poor, oppressed and ill. This explains the self-satisfied and intolerable smugness of affluent white New Agers, who congratulate themselves on their good Karma and good fortune, claiming that "Money is my friend" (see note 2), and that physical immortality should be their birthright.

My youngest son, only 15 years old, had died run down by a car on a road in the South of France two years earlier in 1985, and I have since then lived as if between the realms. The spiritworld where my two sons dwell is as real to me as this world - sometimes more so. Long before then I had experienced the other world as an artist in what can only be called shamanic states. After my son's death I became familiar with spirit communications through attending a spiritualist church, and more recently I have been looking into New Age channelings and have become increasingly alarmed at the reactionary, patriarchal and often outright racist attitudes of supposed enlightened and ancient beings - adepts, Masters and guides speaking mostly through women mediums who seem to need to hide behind male persona and voices in a world where speaking with women's voices still carries very little authority or spiritual status    (see note 3). It is amazing how people are in awe of and unable to question these channeled entities and just accept whatever they say. Someone said that a channeling is a monologue that no-one takes responsibility for. It is also very convenient to be able to say that 'it wasn't me speaking but it was my spirit guide who said...".

New Age channeling of discarnate entities originated amongst the mainly affluent whites on the West Coast of the USA, it has been all the rage ever since around 1985, and many channelers have made themselves fame and fortune. My young son was/is of mixed race, his father African American, and I feel that he and his distant African ancestors do guide me now in the work that I do. I feel very offended by the elitist white supremacy thinking suggested in much channeling and want to discuss this here. I am a lifelong anarcha/Ecofeminist and Earth Mysteries/Goddess artist.

The New Age movement has inherited many of its reactionary notions from the Theosophists in particular. The Theosophical movement, founded by the Russian aristocrat Helena Blavatsky in the USA in 1875, was THE New Age movement of its time and was very influential. Alice Bailey and Rudolf Steiner. both of whose thinking has reached deep into the New Age psyche, started out as Theosophists. Alice Bailey's light-obsessed rightwing thinking has been promoted in our time through Findhorn, the New Age Mecca, and the various organizations she created. I'll come back to this later.

In so many channeled books there is the repeated theme that Earth is a lower and fallen realm, that we are "seeded" from other planets, that we are a failed experiment in genetic engineering, that there is something inherently wrong in being biologically and physically human. Of course this is not New Age at all but the same old tired Christian patriarchal thinking which seeks to separate mind from body, spirit from matter and declares that the "lower" and physical is inherently female while "the imprisoned spirit" is male and seeks to liberate itself from Mother Earth/matter.

Christianity has demonized and desacralised Earth, which it sees as full of illusionary form and female darkness. The Christian "God" on the other hand is eternal light and male by definition. I call him the absentee landlord as he clearly is not seen as indwelling in the creation. (Do the Patriarchs - whether physicists, politicians or the Pope - embrace the Big Bang theory because it sounds like male ejaculation, or does "God" bring forth creation as in a male Virgin birth?) This is in contrast to the ancient Mother Goddess who was/is both dark and light., both of this world and of the Otherworld, the Mother of the living as well as Mother of the spirits.

Ramala, an entity channeled from Glastonbury (see note 4), advocates the removal of darkness from the world and is oblivious to the fact that life evolved in a world of both light and darkness and that we grow in the dark womb and that nothing would live, heal, or grow, without darkness, nor would we dream or communicate with the spirits. In contrast. Malidoma Patrice Some an African shaman and author of "Of Water and the Spirit" (see note 5), writes that for the Dagara, his people who are matrilinear, darkness is sacred and it is forbidden to illuminate it since that scares the spirits away. The night is the day of the spirits and of the Ancestors who come to speak with us and share their wisdom. Malidoma writes that the white man's way means death and that white men are possessed by the troubled ghosts of the Ancestors who they haven't properly grieved for and are therefore nor at peace. Our whiteness is made of terror and unrest and to reintegrate our fragmented psyche we must reunite with Nature, the ancient Mother. Ramala however says that since all matter is mortal it is in order, in our quest for consciousness, to sacrifice aspects of Nature!

This reminds me of a spokesman for president Chirac who said to the Guardian newspaper    (see note 6) that the continuing nuclear tests in the Pacific, under the Mururoa atoll and against world opinion, were about "the freedom of man rather than the contemplation of the innocence of nature." Many New Agers would agree with this and most New Agers live in cities w here electrification is god and the maternal darkness is truly banished, and nuclear power, the Matricide which rips apart the womb of matter to create artificial light, is seen as a necessity. New Agers constantly call in "the Light", in meditations and in gatherings, but the light they are invoking is not of this world and I fear that they are preparing for a mass death while speaking of Earth healing and Earth transformations.

I experienced the white light of the Otherworld as I flew with my brain-dead son on great white wings in a kind of 'near death' experience. The New Agers channeled entities, Masters and Extra­terrestrials, seem to be envious of, and hostile to, Mother-born life on this Earth. What is called "Rebirth into light" seems to be about the destruction of the lifegiving Dark Mother, who all patriarchs, it seems, hate and fear. If one is to believe the channelers. male-identified to a woman, even the spiritworlds have been imperialised by those patriarchs.

It was Mme Blavatsky (1831-91) who first channeled the Hierarchy of Masters, occult adepts, Mahatmas (maha = great /atma = the divine self) or the White Brotherhood, who are said to dwell in the remotest Tibetan Himalayas or in the legendary Otherworld - city of Shambhala in or under the Gobi desert in Mongolia. They can materialise and dematerialise at will anywhere and are immortal. Blavatsky, who was a powerful psychic, claimed to have spent years in Tibet with some of these Masters and was initiated by them, and her task was to bring their teachings to the West; thus the Theosophical movement. More recently it seems that these very same Masters are reappearing in the guise of Extraterrestrial travelers, communicating through New Age channelers. They are said to secretly rule the world by occult means.

The medium George King, who founded the Aetherius society in 1954 after having been contacted by "Master Aetherius from Venus and the Interplanetary Parliament" (see note 7), has always claimed that the Masters are truly inhabitants of other planets. According to him all planetary Masters are reborn on Venus and "Master Jesus" lives on there. The gods as "spacemen" indeed!

John Keel (see note 8) who was an investigator into the weird and wonderful world of the Paranormal in the 70s, speaks of the entities as Ultraterrestrials and thinks that they are not from other planets but beings who occupied Earth long before us but are invisible to us. There are multiple universes and realities, other worlds composed of different forms of matter and of other vibrational levels. We can however only see in 3-D and within a very limited light range. Could we see in the infrared we would see the luminous colours of the darkness and spirits would be visible to us. Keel thinks that the Ultraterrestrials are Earth's original inhabitants and have appeared in many guises over the many millenia. They appear, or are able to materialise, where there are magnetic anomalies and faultlines in the Earth's crust - such as at the ancient sacred sites of the Goddess - that act as sort of gateways or windows into other realities.

These are the sites where Shamankas and Shamans in all ages undertook spirit-flights into the world of the spirits and the Ancestors seeking powers of healing and prophesy. Shamanism is thought to have been originally an ancient ecstatic women's tradition based in our lunar/menstrual mysteries (see note 9). In legend the Ultraterrestrials have come down to us as the Elementals, Nature spirits, the Little People, Faeries or Shining Ones, Castaneda's Allies, as ghosts and the spirits of the dead, as Earth Lights and White Ladies, and now most recently, as Extraterrestrials and Immortal Masters. They appeared in the messages of spiritualist mediums in the end of the last century and now in New Age channelings. The Entities possess great magical powers and can take any form they wish or that is projected on them. They might also be responsible for the present day crop circles and UFO flaps.

Keel thinks that magic beliefs were always fundamentally about how to work with and transform electromagnetic energies and atomic structures, and that occultists might have been forcing electrical energy to assume visible, physical form when calling up spirits. I myself believe that ancient peoples walked easily between the realms and that there was a communication at all times between us and Earth's spirits in the way there is between a mother and her children. We are embodied spirits ourselves and the Hopis believe that we are connected to Spiderwomans vibrant web through the top of our heads, and I believe through our Third Eye. The Elementals or UTs were never really hostile to us until recently, even though they would play tricks on us and occasionally a shaman or initiate would get caught in their realm. Maladoma has strange things to say about this as does Castaneda. In the highlands of Scotland Faery women were the givers of wisdom to mortal women, but with Christianity women were accused of "Witchcraft" if they communicated with the Faeries and the Faery women were described as baby-snatchers and tricksters. (see note 10)   

Maladoma also writes that Earth Herself has many vortex points through which one can reach almost anywhere, to any realms of the spirit in initiations. But our whole training :n the West has been to silence our right brain - the Isis or Moon mind - through which we can hear the voices of Nature and the spirits (see note 11). We are now so dense, and have as a result put ourselves in mortal danger because most of us no longer hear the voice of Earth as She warns us. Perhaps this is why the Entities are now coming at us as some kind of repressed monsters of the patriarchal Id.

It has been suggested that Entities from an entirely different order of reality and who are truly hostile to us have been able to enter into our Earth sphere as a result of atmospheric nuclear tests in August 1945.A blast of energy was set off into space that might have been detected by beings from other worlds who then arrived here to help or warn us, or to abuse us. Psychics had warned President Truman in 1945 not to detonate the atomic bomb because they thought that it might do damage to Earth's Etheric shield (the electromagnetic ionosphere - Gaia's magnetic mantle) allowing hostile entities to enter, not from other planets but from other realities. It was only two years later in June 1947, that the pilot Kenneth Arnold set off the original UFO scare with his sightings of luminous flying objects. Atomic explosions disrupt the energy channels and work on levels far beyond the merely physical and create disharmony that reverberates throughout this universe and beyond. Does it even affect the dead and the Ancestors, endangering our very rebirth?

Are there Entities that are composed of raw electromagnetic energy and radiate deadly radioactive rays, like Gamma, ultraviolet and X-rays, who are materializing into our realm facilitated and aided by technology and for whom computers are the ideal medium, beings who have mastered chi /vril / orgone/ cosmic energy and have incredible powers but are radioactive and hostile to Earthbased life? Are there Entities eagerly awaiting the perfecting of the intelligent computer so that they may enter fully into this reality to take Control? (see note 12) 
People who have encountered UFOs and their inhabitants have suffered what appears like radiation burns, nausea and inflamed eyes. With the increasing destruction of Earth's ozone layer, dangerous ultraviolet rays that cause cancer and blindness, are able to enter. Is this an environment that suits the Entities but that is deadly to us? Why is hardly anything done to stop the destruction of the ozone layer as well as of the forests, the seas and air, and who or what are the men who control industries and multinationals that pollute and poison our Mother?

I recently read an article about HAARP, which is the High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme that is being carried out in Alaska  (see note 13). At first I thought that the article was written by some paranoid person but then I saw a programme on TV where the physicist who has developed HAARP quite matter of factly spoke of weather manipulation and of altering and tampering with Earth's very ionosphere, the huge plasma layer that is an electrically-charged sphere that surrounds Earth's upper atmosphere. It is in other words Earth's protective shield. The patent of the HAARP transmitter, or ';Sky buster", or ionospheric heater, belonged originally to one of the biggest oil companies but is now in the hands of CIA and US military and defense departments, who by any definition are terrorists as they threaten all our lives. They aim to zap the upper atmosphere with a focused electromagnetic beam, thus lifting and heating areas of the ionosphere. Electromagnetic waves will then bounce back to Earth penetrating everything, living and dead. This Star Wars technology is potentially the ultimate lethal threat to Earth-life. While the US military see it as a way of penetrating oceans to locate enemy submarines, to knock out enemy electronic communication in time of war and trace oil, minerals, uranium underground, the frequency range will also disrupt human mental functionings. In fact this is planned as is environmental warfare, using polar ice melting, ozone depletion, earthquake engineering, weather control, ocean wave control etc.
