Seeking the Light

Alice Bailey's enthusiasm for the Light went as far as to welcome the detonations of the atomic bombs in August 1945 as a great spiritual event. The Tibetan DK and Alice Bailey wrote in "The Externalisation of the Hierarchy" (see note 33) on 9 August 1945, the very day that Nagasaki was bombed, that a new era would now be ushered in by the scientists of the world and that one hidden purpose of the World War had been to facilitate this release of "cosmic energy". "The Lords of Liberation had directed an inflow of extra-planetary energy" and thanks to successful invocations from Bailey's followers they had been able to help the scientists to finish the bomb. Bailey and DK go on to say that the Japanese, whose nervous system is of the 4th root-race, were due to be destroyed "... .and the consequent release of their imprisoned souls is a necessary happening; it is the justification of the use of the atomic bomb upon the Japanese population." (see note 33a). Alice Bailey enthused that the atomic bomb meant that an aspect of matter was released thus "freeing some of the soul force within the atom" and she claims that this was a great initiation for matter and brought the work of the World Saviour into the world of substance. It also makes space-flight more possible as space-probes today are nuclear power fuelled!

Sir George Trevelyan believed that Christ took over the etheric body of Earth and defeated death itself and is present in every nuclear centre. He hoped therefore that if the button was to be pressed it would signal a vast light filling the Heavens announcing the presence of Christ and would not be a nuclear holocaust. Atomic energy will bring about a New World Order, prophesied DK, and this has come only too true as nuclear power has led to an ever more authoritarian police and military state. The New World Order is controlled by the USA, the world's policeman.

Bailey and her followers promote a World Government as "those who are to walk into the Light" need it, and it will facilitate the emergence of the Masters and the Hierarchy on Earth. The Lucis Trust is on the roster of the Economic and Social Council of the UN. which is seen by Bailey's followers as a World Government in the making. When the UN was formed in 1945 it was entirely controlled by the nuclear nations and Bailey wrote that nothing must defy the Forces of Light working through the UN, an implied threat to socialist and Third World countries.

Vast sums of money are also needed by the World Servers and Master DK taught them how to visualize large quantities of money flowing like a golden stream into their coffers. Amongst them there are financial servers like bankers and financiers (see note 34). World Goodwill published a compilation from Alice Bailey's books, called "Money, the medium of loving distribution'', in which DK suggests that money is to be diverted from even humanitarian aims ( such as poverty and starvation?) and towards "spiritual goals" such as the "externalisation of the Hierarchy''. ( And by this is meant when the so-called secret or ascended Masters will materialise on Earth. To facilitate this is the aim of so much New Age activity and thinking. "This is the second coming.") Why do the Masters, supposedly spiritual beings, need money, I ask?

Reading the New Group of World Servers leaflets, which are freely available at many New Age gatherings, I get the impression that many of them are in influential and powerful positions. An Inner group of Adepts amongst them are in constant telepathic communication with, and are "over­shadowed" by, the Masters. They warn us not to cling to the old ways, that world leaders are under their influence and that we must now assist in the birth into a new brave world. World Goodwill and the World Servers actually celebrated the 50th anniversary in 1995 of the Atomic bomb, the founding of the UN and the unleashing of Alice Bailey's "The Great Invocation" upon the world. I have a number of their leaflets to prove it. Never mind that the US government has spent $trillion on its nuclear programme since the 1940s. Money spent on death. Even though Alice Bailey mentions peaceful uses of nuclear energy, I sense that there is a whole other motive for her and the Tibetan's enthusiasm for what they call "the liberation of Cosmic energy" as in a nuclear explosion. I wrote earlier that some psychics and mediums had warned President Truman not to go ahead with the atomic bomb since they feared it would damage Earth's protective shield and possibly allow entities into our realm that might be hostile to life on Earth. It is since 1945 that there have been many thousands of UFO sightings all around the world, many of which might be an actual life-form or living energy and not spaceships at all.

Alice Bailey had written that our static form and death-oriented world must be shattered by "the fire that is now waiting to descend and transcend and transform our world". She also hints that to behold the Masters would be as seering as the light from a nuclear flash ... that the blinding light of nuclear explosion is very much the same as the blinding light seen in mystic states. That on different levels they are the same expression of consciousness and are the effect of being initiated by the Masters. Bailey wrote, and this sounds even more ominous to me, that when the aspirant prays "he is invoking something that humanity will have to learn to handle"! No wonder that one does not see New Agers on anti-nuclear demonstrations, or any other actions for that matter on Earth's behalf. Findhorn promoted initiations by Light. Is the coming Earth transformation, Earth being reborn into a higher light-filled state in New Age speak, actually about our physical form being burnt away in a nuclear blast? The Second Coming in wrath indeed.

Many New Agers take a very reactionary stance partly because they are seduced by the glamour of High-Tech, the Information highway-Internet-faxes-video-Sky satellite TV-mobile phones-Virtual reality-super brain computers etc, which developed after the Second World War and from discoveries by scientists working for the US military and which now promote US multinational business interests around the world. Influential New Agers such as David Spangler. Marilyn Ferguson (see note 35) and William Irwin Thompson, have all at one time or another written that multinational corporations are creating structures of planetisation that will accelerate "the mystical transformation of mankind" (Spangler's words), or are ways of serving Earth's strategies for establishing a planetary consciousness. The electromagnetic global wiring which is strangling Earth and breaking down Her immune system, thus causing illness and madness, is here said to be Her own strategy! New Agers will simply not recognise that we are conscious only because She, our Mother, is conscious.

I asked in my book "New Age and Armageddon: the Goddess or the Gurus?" whether some New Agers actually work for the CIA. Considering that the CIA protects the interests of US-owned multinational corporations, to the detriment of Third World and indigenous peoples, this is not so farfetched after all, since their information technology is thought by New Agers to create the Global Village or Global Brain (see note 36). I also cannot help wondering how many Alice Bailey followers or World Servers might work in the World Bank, the IMF, the boardrooms of multinationals and as designers of the GATT and other "agreements". DK did suggest that the world's resources should be centrally controlled and distributed, and that means, in the present situation, by the West and USA. Are these new and more subtle ways of promoting Aryan supremacy? There are rumours of men on Wall Street speaking of Secret Masters. The debt-repayments and the so-called "structural readjustment" programmes enforced by the World Bank have been used as a weapon to bring countries that at one time were socialist and independent minded, such as Angola, Mozambique and Nicaragua, to their knees (see note 37). The joke is that "Third World" countries have paid their debt times over already but are still paying the growing interest on the original loans. It would seem that it is the poor South that is financing the rich North. This is money that the Western banks do not even need and the debt is in fact used to control peoples. The poorest countries in the world, as in Africa, are also robbed of their raw materials leaving them unable to feed themselves, thus "world hunger".

Is some of this money coming from the South used to finance the Externalisation of the Hierarchy? A question.

I wonder why is it that Mme Blavatsky is often ridiculed as a charlatan but I have never yet seen Alice Bailey and her motives and organisations questioned anywhere (see note 38). David Icke, who now claims to be exposing World conspiracies, does not as much as mention Bailey and seems to himself be a devotee of the Masters (see note 39).

Gerry Mander writes in "The Absence of the Sacred" (see note 40). a book I wish that everyone would read, that Earth is now being turned into a Technosphere instead of a Biosphere and that a worldwide, interlocked, monolithic, technical-political web of unprecedented negative implications is being planned. Scientists who are into Nanotechnology and Robotics speak of humans as redundant and want to redesign the very molecular structures of Earth. He writes that those who advocate this do not even pretend to care about the natural world and are making plans for a Post-biological age., so much do they hate and envy the Mother and Her creative and life-giving powers. Mander can envisage a coming conflict between Technoculture and Earth-based peoples. I get the impression that New Agers such as David Spangler and Ken Carey would welcome a Post-biological age when Her spirits can no longer be heard, when "god" (the spaceman) has embedded computers within us and we become "Star children". It does not seem to occur to them that we already live in space and that Earth is a great planetary Spirit., that we are already children of the Stars.

The Plan and the Maitreya

The Theosophists promoted the myth that the Secret Masters release portions of their Ageless Wisdom from time to time and according to a three-staged Plan. They completed the first stage when Mme Blavatsky published "Isis Unveiled" (see note 41) in 1877, and even more so with "The Secret Doctrine" in 1888, in which she developed her theory of the root-races that so interested the Nazis.

The second stage was accomplished through the many books channeled through Alice Bailey 1919-49, and the third stage was to be revelatory, beginning after 1975 with a New Wave and the coming of higher beings and esoteric teachings. Alice Bailey wrote that the secret teachings of the Hierarchy were to be revealed to the public then, and Mme Blavatsky had said that a Master of Wisdom might appear in the 70s coming from the East. There would be Communications on a world-wide scale using human channels as well as mass media.

Benjamin Creme is a channeler who claims that the Christ/Maitreya or Master of Wisdom is indeed with us now and lives in the Asian community in the East End of London. The story goes that Creme was stepping out of the bath one January night in 1959 when a telepathic contact was made with him by a member of the spiritual Hierarchy. He has since then been in constant telepathic contact with the Maitreya, who after waiting 500 years in the Himalayas, had finally descended into Pakistan and flew by air to London arriving there in July 1977. He lives in an indestructible body of Light and can materialise and dematerialise, and has done so at a number of gatherings internationally according to Creme.

Alice Bailey's followers will not recognise this Master however. The Maitreya is now waiting for the world's media to invite him to proclaim himself the Messiah and World Teacher via TV networks and radio linked together. Obviously the global information circuitry has also this Master's blessing. He will overshadow humanity simultaneously in many languages as well as by telepathy. One refreshing thing is that being a dark Asian man, the Maitreya is actually critical of the West, of imperialism and the US inspired New World Order. He prophesies the collapse of Wall Street and that London, the centre of Western banking, will drown. Creme claims that it is thanks to the Maitreya's presence that the Cold War ended and his reappearance - he "overshadowed" the man Jesus 2.000 years ago - will affect the world's institutions, the soul and reincarnation, the developing world, telepathy, nuclear power and the economic order. He will also rescue millions who are today suffering from poverty and starvation in a world of plenty. When it comes to women, half of the human population, it is however patriarchy as usual, as it became clear to me when reading Creme's channeled book "Maitreya's Mission" (see note 42). A gay man who took part in the book's question and answers sessions, pointed out that he found up to 20 curse words about homosexuality in a book by Alice Bailey and that he had felt very hurt by this. Creme's answer was that the Spiritual Hierarchy of Masters does not see homosexuality as normal but as a cause of imbalance in humanity! But the Masters do not see Patriarchy, with its male-dominance as a cause of imbalance and disharmony. When asked whether one has to be male to be a Master the answer was that Masters will incarnate more and more frequently but only in male bodies for the next 400 years! It had something to do with polarities between spirit and matter, and presumably the old tired patriarchal assumption that matter is female and of a lower order, while spirit is male and higher.

Someone pointed out that the terminology used in Bailey's books - and obviously Benjamin Creme is a fan of hers - is predominantly masculine as in "the Brotherhood of Man" and didn't this add to the already huge division between the sexes. The answer was that the Hierarchy will use the terms that are in common usage. I have never as yet seen Patriarchy and all its ills and cruelty and wars, its dominance over and destruction of Nature and the Earth, questioned in a channeled book. Also, one could naively assume that an all male Hierarchy of Brothers, without a woman in sight, would be homoerotic in orientation. Creme even had the gall to say that the Virgin Mary was really a male Master in disguise and that the Hierarchy inspired the modern-day Women's movement! Creme introduced Transmission meditations in 1974 so that spiritual energies can be directed via human groups from the Masters.
